I’m here in Singapore, at the Asia Internet Congress. I’m watching my good friend Simon Leung speak. I’ve seen him speak a number of times, and I always learn something about Google AdWords when I do.
It’s great seeing a speaker grow in experience. I remember Simon when he was still working for Google, not being a full time internet marketer at all. Now he’s helping people navigate the landmines of Google AdWords, so they can maximize their visitor value by keeping their click costs low.
Simon rocks!
Today I’m thankful that the internet is morphing from a place of information to a place of socialization.
Two very important people in my and Joey’s life came back to us this year. In one case, it was as a result of MySpace. And for that, I can’t express enough thanks.
I saw this on my friend Mike’s blog, and I thought it was pretty cool, so I ran out and did one for myself.
Here’s what I look like when I’m doing my yoga in the morning.

Ok, maybe I don’t have the makeup and lipstick on…and my hair is definitely pulled back off my face.
Oh yeah, and there’s no oceany clifffront here in Vegas.
So it’s basically what I WISH I looked like when I did my yoga!
As an email marketer, I used to pooh-pooh spam filters. I don’t want any of my members using them and putting a communications barrier between us, so I wouldn’t use them.
The consequence of this stand is that every year or so, I’d change my primary email address, which is an annoyance for me, my staff, and my friends.
So when the newest email address suddenly became a target for Spam, I decided to give up and take the plunge to invest in what I consider to be the best Spam filter on the market.
I also decided to buy the service for one of our customer service emails that gets more than 100 spam messages a day. Instead of wasting my customer service employee’s time, for $6 a month it’s worth it if I can save just a half hour of her time every month.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

“i’d rather be a rich and dorky than poor and cool”
For now, I’ll attribute it to my friend, Greg Poulos.
I’m sure he’ll love being immortalized on my blog for all time with that
